Minutes of the Committee Meeting of the
Albrighton & District Civic Society
held on Monday 4th October 2021 at 2pm
at 32 High Street (PW’s house)

1. Apologies received from Ron Kidson, Gaynor Richards, Patrick Richards and David Slatcher (ex-officio member from Boningale PC).
2. Minutes of Meeting of 6th Sept 2021 were approved
3. Treasurer’s Report.– MP reported a current bank balance of £1,706.33
4. To consider progress in regard to following main issues
a) Application for the Society to be a Consultee for planning applications in all four villages. SC had already agreed to this but it needs them to implement it. ACTION: PW to pursue SC
b) Tree root damage outside the Estate Agents. SC have agreed to remove the 4 trees and to replace them with a more appropriate variety. ACTION: PW following up on progress
c) State of village roads. - especially pot holes in High St, the depression in Station Rd and the very bad surface in Cross Road. Still awaiting response from SC
d) The Crown Pub –the poor colour match of bricks and mortar had been notified to the brewery who had responded positively and would consider remedial tinting. ACTION: PW to follow up
5. Matters arising
a) Fayre. It was agreed that RS will represent the Society at the new committee
e) AGM and Public Meeting 11th October 2021. RS still awaiting confirmation from David Corden that he will speak.

6. AOB.
a) Solar Farm near County Lane. RK was concerned that any changes to drainage does not send the water in a direction detrimental to the village. ACTION: PW to write to the proposer asking for details of the drainage system
